Product Information

The SD422 is an amazing dual - bay SATA docking station that can support two 2.5 - inch or 3.5 - inch SATA drives at the same time. It's a great solution for data recovery, drive imaging, and service centers, as well as home and workplaces needing quick access to uninstalled or archived SATA drives. With the USB 3.2 Gen 1 (formerly USB 3.0) interface, it offers a super - fast data transfer rate of up to 5Gbps. Connect it to your computer via USB to use it as an external hard drive dock. Thanks to Multi - LUN Support, the two SATA slots have separate drive letters, allowing you to access data from both slots simultaneously and easily copy files between drives. When not connected to a computer via USB, it can function as a standalone duplicator dock to clone hard drives without a host computer. Key features include direct insertion for 2.5 - inch or 3.5 - inch SATA HDD/SSD, backward compatibility with USB 2.0 (up to 480Mbps), LED status indicators, hot - swappable and plug - and - play operation without drivers, UASP support, offline cloning, and compatibility with Windows XP and above (32/64 - bit) and Mac OS 10.4 and above.

Using the SD422 is a breeze. First, make sure your computer meets the compatibility requirements (Windows XP and above or Mac OS 10.4 and above). To use it as an external hard - drive dock, just connect it to your computer via the USB cable. You can then insert your 2.5 - inch or 3.5 - inch SATA HDD/SSD into the slots. The separate drive letters make it easy to access and manage data from both drives at once. If you want to copy files between the two drives, simply use your computer's file - management tools. For cloning without a host computer, just insert the source and destination drives, and the SD422 will do the job. When it comes to maintenance, keep it in a clean and dry place. Since it's hot - swappable, you can insert and remove drives without turning off the power, but it's still a good idea to safely eject drives when you're done. If you're using a USB 2.0 port, remember the transfer speed will be limited to 480Mbps instead of the faster 5Gbps available with USB 3.2 Gen 1.
