Product Information

Are you in Australia searching for M3x5x4 threaded inserts? These inserts meet the Voron BOM specifications. Forget gluing parts or screwing plastic directly into 3D prints. Use these strong and reusable machine screws with heat-set inserts. They cost just a few cents each, with a grooved outside and internal threads. Originally for injection-molded parts, they work great for 3D-printed plastic too. You can use a regular soldering iron to heat-press them in. Heat the iron, press the insert in, let it cool, and it's like a hex nut inside the plastic. You'll get a pack of 50 M3-threaded inserts, 4mm long with a 5mm outer diameter. Dimensions: OD 5mm, ID M3 thread, Length 4mm. Also, browse our other fasteners, Voron parts, and 3D printer accessories.

Using these heatset inserts is easy. First, grab a plain soldering iron. Heat it up and then use it to press the insert into your 3D - printed plastic. Wait for it to cool down, and then you can use it just like a hex nut that's inside the plastic. When handling the soldering iron, be careful not to burn yourself. Keep it away from flammable materials. For maintenance, since these inserts are strong and reusable, you don't need to do much. Just make sure to keep them dry and clean. If they get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a dry cloth. That way, they'll be ready for your next 3D - printing project.
