Product Information

Nevermore Carbon is a top - notch activated carbon, now available in an XL size, specially selected for the Nevermore range of activated carbon filters. Sourced from the creators of the Nevermore Project, it's mainly used in Voron Printers as a fume filter. It effectively removes ABS fumes and other 3D printing particulates (VOCs). These premium 4mm carbon pellets aren't just for Nevermore filters; they have various other uses too. Each bag contains 1000g of carbon, but 2300 ml is a better measurement due to different carbon densities. Don't be misled by weight comparisons; you get great value for your money. The specifications are impressive: 80 CTC for adsorption efficiency, a surface area of 1250 for long - lasting filtration, up to 48wt% benzene adsorption, a density of 420 g/L, hardness over 98 for less dust, and microporous porosity for optimal VOC adhesion. For Nevermore Filters, the number of refills varies: Nevermore Micro v4 needs 36 refills, v5 needs 21, v5 XL needs 18, and the requirement for Nevermore Max is yet to be determined. As for replacement frequency, activated carbon in room air depletes in 1 - 2 months because of high VOC levels. In a well - sealed printer, a single cartridge can last up to 3 months. In a leaky printer or an enclosure with lots of circulating room air, replacement may be needed sooner. This is not the coconut butter type; it's a premium anthracite with a similar yet wider pore range, which is better at catching larger molecules like BPA in ASA.

Using these carbon pellets in your Nevermore filter is easy. Just open the bag and refill the filter according to the recommended number of refills for your specific Nevermore model. Remember, in a well - sealed printer, the carbon can last up to 3 months. But if your printer isn't well - sealed or you're using it in an enclosure with a lot of circulating room air, you may need to replace the carbon more often. Keep an eye on the smell of ABS fumes; if you start noticing them, it's probably time to change the carbon. When handling the carbon pellets, be careful as they can generate a bit of dust, but thanks to their high hardness, the dust generation is minimal. Store the carbon in a dry place to maintain its effectiveness. And if you have any new information about the Nevermore Max filter's carbon requirements, do share it with us!
