CAMERA MOUNT

The Apex EVO comes with a newly redesigned aluminum camera mount and 3D - printed isolation inserts. It holds the camera firmly, cuts down vibrations, and keeps it electrically separate from the frame. With various HD and analog cameras on the market having different distances from the lens front to mounting bolts, the ability to adjust the camera's position in the frame is crucial. By rotating the TPU inserts 180 degrees and changing the pivot point between the upper or lower bolt, the EVO camera mount offers 4 mounting positions, each 2mm apart.

CUSTOM GOPRO MOUNTING

For quick angle changes during filming, the standard GoPro tab and slot design is great, but the stock GoPro bolt isn't ideal for FPV use. The Mr Steele version of the Apex includes a 3D - printed mount and a custom - designed bolt for FPV. Our new aluminum - machined bolt saves weight, has an 8mm hex outside and a 2.5mm hex broach inside. You can use a standard hex driver for M3 bolts or the prop tool for M5 nuts in your flight bag to change the GoPro angle quickly.

HD VIDEO SYSTEM ISOLATION

Some modern HD video systems have a grounded body, which can ground the carbon fiber plates and frame hardware. To solve this, along with the necessary mounting hardware for Caddx Vista and DJI O3, we include a die - cut mylar insulator and custom - machined 'cone rivets' from non - conductive POM. When installed, the HD video system and mounting hardware are electrically isolated from the frame, adding only 0.5g of extra weight compared to bulkier designs.

ANTENNA MOUNTING

Each kit includes a 3D - printed antenna mount for your HD video system or similar antennas. The Mr Steele version also has a standoff mount for the Tracer Immortal - T antenna.

Using the ImpulseRC Apex EVO 5 Frame Kit is quite straightforward. First, start by assembling the carbon fiber frame parts using the included hardware and standoffs. When mounting the camera, use the aluminum and TPU camera mount. You can adjust the camera's position by rotating the TPU inserts 180 degrees and choosing different pivot points to get the best shot and protection. For the GoPro, if you have the Mr Steele version, use the custom - designed bolt and 3D - printed mount. You can easily change the angle with common tools in your flight bag. When installing the HD video system, don't forget to use the mylar insulator and 'cone rivets' to keep it electrically isolated. Attach the antenna using the 3D - printed mount, or the standoff mount for the Tracer Immortal - T if you have the Mr Steele version. As for the battery, use the rubber and velcro battery pads and the battery strap to secure it. When it comes to maintenance, regularly check the hardware for tightness. Clean the frame and parts with a soft cloth. Store the kit in a dry and cool place to prevent damage. Avoid using abrasive materials on the carbon fiber parts.
