Product Information

Are you in Australia and looking to buy a Matek MBEC12S? This amazing BEC is a must - have for your RC aircraft or electronics project. It has a wide 6V to 60V operating input range, making it super versatile and lightweight. Key features include a start - up voltage of >=6.7V. You can adjust the output voltage to 5V, 9V, or 12V (default is 5V). The maximum duty cycle is 100%, and when the input voltage is less than the setting value, the regulator output voltage equals the input voltage. The continuous load current depends on input voltage and heat dissipation. At room temperature (22C) and without an additional heat sink, with an input of 6 - 60V, it offers different output currents and ripples. For example, at 50V DC IN, 5V OUT gives 1.8A continuous. The standby current is <5mA. It also has OCP protection, thermal shutdown, and can tolerate output short - circuits for 3 seconds per minute. However, there's no protection for reversed input polarity. The pins are 2.54mm apart, and it's just 18x15x4.5mm in size and weighs only 2g. It comes in a 1 - piece package. Browse all BECs and all Matek products.

Using the Matek mBEC12S is quite straightforward. First, make sure your input voltage is within the 6V to 60V range. You can adjust the output voltage to 5V, 9V, or 12V according to your needs. When starting up, ensure the voltage is at least 6.7V. Pay attention to the input voltage as the continuous load current depends on it. Also, the heat dissipation can affect the performance, so try to keep it in a well - ventilated area. In terms of safety, this BEC has OCP protection and thermal shutdown. But be careful, there's no protection for reversed input polarity, so double - check your connections. If you encounter an output short - circuit, it can tolerate it for 3 seconds per minute. For maintenance, keep it clean and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures. There's no need for complex upkeep, just make sure it's used within its specified parameters.
