This is the direct drive version of the 0820-15 motor with 8cm wires. Note: it's not the Alias Plug'n'Play version. For the Plug'n'Play motors, click here. The 0820-15 is a classic motor and still one of Benedikt's favorites. Watch an old video to see how the micro motor story started. It's compatible with AlienWii flight controller (plug'n'play), Hubsan 107C, 107D, and all other micro quads with 8.5mm motor holders. Performance data includes a speed of 15,000Kv, an operating voltage of 1.5 - 3.7V, a max thrust of 40g (direct drive, Hubsan X4 propeller), a max load current of 2.75A at 3.7V (Hubsan X4 propeller), and a factory lifetime rating of 5 - 6 hours. Dimensions are a can diameter of 8.5mm, a can length of 20mm, a shaft diameter of 1mm, a shaft length of 5mm, and a weight of 4.9g. All motor packs have equal numbers of clockwise and counter - clockwise motors. Don't run them in reverse to maximize performance and lifespan. Motor rotation and correct polarity are shown by wire color: clockwise - red +, blue -; counter - clockwise - white +, black -. Check reviews and comparison with other micro motors on rcgroups: 1s micro/mini brushed quadcopter specifications and performance data.

Using this motor is quite straightforward. First, check the compatibility of your device with the motor. It works great with AlienWii flight controllers, Hubsan 107C and 107D, and other micro quads with 8.5mm motor holders. Make sure to connect the wires correctly according to the wire color for the right rotation. Red and blue wires are for clockwise rotation, while white and black are for counter - clockwise. Avoid running the motor in reverse as it can reduce its performance and lifespan. The motor operates within a voltage range of 1.5 - 3.7V, so keep that in mind when powering it. In terms of maintenance, there's not much to do, but try to keep it clean from dust and debris. The factory - rated lifetime is 5 - 6 hours, so if you notice a significant drop in performance after this time, it might be time to replace the motor.
