Product Information

Polymaker™ PC - ABS is an amazing PC/ABS polymer blend. It combines the toughness of ABS and the heat - resistance of PC, delivering excellent toughness and heat resistance. With a good surface finish and great compatibility with metal plating, it's a top - choice for various applications. This material is perfect for automotive interior parts like dashboards, door handles, and instrument panels. It's also great for general prototyping and manufacturing. Here are its outstanding features: Excellent Toughness: It's super durable, with high impact strength. Ideal for engineering and industrial uses, especially in heat and impact - resistant applications. Heat Resistant: With a heat deflection temperature up to 111.7℃ (0.45MPa), it suits a wide range of automotive and engineering projects. Good Surface Finish: Parts made from it have a smooth surface and good adhesion, making post - processing a breeze. It's great for painting, bonding, and specialized surface finishings like electroless plating and metallization. Bonding & Welding: You can join Polymaker™ PC - ABS parts using different welding methods, and it can be bonded to other materials with suitable adhesives. Formulated For 3D Printing: Based on Covestro’s Bayblend®, it's engineered for 3D printing, offering excellent mechanical properties and printing quality. It requires an enclosure and a 90°C heated bed, and a heated chamber is highly recommended. Printing Settings: Nozzle Temperature: 250°C - 270°C; Build Plate Temperature: 90°C - 105°C; It works well with most build surfaces. Apply Magigoo PC or PVA glue to improve adhesion. An enclosure and heated chamber are highly recommended. Cooling Fan: Usually off, but low speed may be needed in some heated chambers. Printing Speed: 30 mm/s - 50 mm/s. Retraction settings vary by printer. Recommended Support Material: Self - support. Annealing: To get the best mechanical performance, anneal printed parts at 90˚C for 2 hours. This releases internal stress. Specifications: Net Weight 1kg, Material Type PC - ABS, Density 1.1 (g/cm3 at 21.5˚C). Compatibility: It's designed for 3D printing but needs a heated bed and enclosure. Different PC - ABS blends may have different ideal settings. Printing with an actively heated chamber is recommended for the best results.

Using the Polymaker PC - ABS filament is easy. First, make sure your 3D printer is set up according to the recommended settings. Pre - heat the build plate for 20 - 30 minutes before printing. In cold climates, you may need to pre - heat longer. Keep in mind that a stable and hot printing environment is crucial. When printing, follow the recommended nozzle temperature, build plate temperature, and printing speed. If you're using a direct drive printer, set the retraction distance to 1mm and the speed to 20mm/s. For a Bowden printer, use a 3mm retraction distance and 40mm/s speed. It's a good idea to do some calibration tests before starting a big project. After printing, if you want the best mechanical performance of your parts, anneal them at 90˚C for 2 hours. This will release the internal stress that builds up during printing. Also, be aware that this filament requires a heated bed and an enclosure. If you don't have an actively heated chamber, pay attention to the part size and infill density as larger or denser parts may have more residual stress. When it comes to storage, keep the filament in a dry and cool place to maintain its quality.
